How the thread lift works
During this treatment, the threads are inserted into the skin using special needles. A sophisticated mechanism ensures that the threads can be separated from the needles once inside the skin in order to unfold their full effect. For this purpose, medical threads made of PDO (Polydioxanone) are inserted into the skin, which dissolve by themselves within 6 – 8 months.
It is not actually the threads themselves that create the firming skin effect of the treated area but instead the “bio-stimulation” (collagenases) which is triggered by the threads:
New collagen fibers form around the threads, creating the corresponding volume in the treated area and padding the skin visibly in the process. This thread material has proven successful in vessel and heart surgery. It mainly consists of water and carbon dioxide and is therefore easily broken down by the human body within 6 to 8 months.
The effects of thread lifting become visible approx. 4 to 8 weeks after treatment and will remain for about 12 months.
